Dear General Sir
I am writing to you after reading a few mails from various members and non members on the IESM activity.The most disturbing was the one from Brig B M Kapoor which seems to suggest that OROP was the only agenda of IESM and hence it should be wound up.How ignorant can one be.
Sir in anycase many seem to think that OROP was the only agenda of IESM basically due to our emphasis on this issue alone so far.
I feel it is now time to consolidate the admin end and start to take up other issues that concern us.
Talking to PBOR and many officers the next issue should be the sorting out of the ECHS mess.Most are unhappy with it in its present form.Besides individual complaint that are purely their own problems there are issues that need to be taken up to streamline the working and avoid wastage and misuse of funds and the facility by members.Maj Gen R N Radhakrishnan has already circulated on mail,for comments, a draft paper he is written
The other issue we need to look at urgently seems to be how to reach the large number of PBOR who are in villages and have not even heard of this organisation.There are a large number of officers too in districts who have no idea of what the IESM is all about.
The lull can also be utilised get into place various sub committes who will take up work on various issues that we plan to take up and effective administartive setup at various levels.
We also need to think of inreasing our visibility.
I am sure the core group is already thinking on these lines.But i felt i should put in my bit after reading the mails.
